What is Torque Release Technique (TRT) and Why We Use it.

I want to walk you through one of the core techniques we use here at Groundwork Chiropractic. It's called Torque Release Technique, or TRT, and it's designed specifically to identify and correct areas of restriction in your spine that affect your nervous system.

How It Works

Most chiropractic techniques focus on what they can feel or see. TRT is different because we use objective neurological tests to pinpoint exactly where your nervous system is being restricted. We perform what's called a functional leg length reflex test. You lie face down, and I check a simple reflex at your ankle, similar to how a doctor checks your knee reflex. When that reflex fires, if your legs balance out, it tells us precisely which level of your spine needs correction. No guessing, no adjusting every joint in your body. Just the areas that actually need it.

The Adjustment

Once we've identified the restriction, I use an instrument called the Integrator to deliver a gentle, precise adjustment. It's a controlled tap. It is not forceful or no twisting. Most patients describe it as barely feeling anything at all. But that light touch, combined with pinpoint accuracy, creates real change in how your nervous system functions.

What to Expect

During your care with us, you'll notice we're checking and reassessing constantly. That's intentional. We're verifying that each adjustment is actually working and that your nervous system is responding. You're not just getting adjusted; you're being measured, tested, and guided toward real correction.
